The standard SMPTE 310M is a television standard by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, describing a synchronous serial interface for MPEG-2 digital transport streams. These digitally transmitted MPEG-2 transport streams have a bandwidth of 19.38 Mbps or 38.8 Mbps and they are used to feed modulators that create the RF signals. SMPTE 310M specifies a very accurate 2.5 ppm clock.
Usually the SMPTE 310M stream is composed of a 12Mbps HD stream (1080i) and a 6Mbps SD stream (640i). Cabling: 75 Ohm coax cable with BNC connector.
