DMX Line Termination with 120 Ohms Resistor

"Open ends" of DMX lines must be terminated. The terminating plugs contain a 120 ohm, 0.5W, resistor across pins 2 & 3. The terminator absorbs signal power which would otherwise be reflected back up the cable and degrade the data.

DMX Adapter

DMX connectors with 3 pins and 5 pins must be connected by an adapter.

DMX Test Connector

A DMX test connector can be build with two resistors 270 Ohms and two standard LEDs. The test connector must be a MALE connector.
